TALLAHASSEE, FL, August 6, 2007…Parrish Group Inc., one of Tallahassee's largest private developers, recently closed on three parcels of land in the high-profile Metropolitan Corporate Center where I-10 meets Thomasville Road. Company President Robert Parrish says the community can look forward to seeing buildings going up at the park by early 2008.

Located at the corner of Tallahassee's busiest I-10 interchange, the property was owned by the late Pat Krause who died suddenly in 2006. His widow, Annette Krause, sold the property to Parrish in early July of this year. Parrish has other parcels within the park under contract as well, and he expects to close on those before summer of 2008.

In spite of the depressed conditions in Tallahassee's residential market, Parrish Group hasn't noticed a slow down on commercial properties. "We're seeing a steady expansion of businesses," Parrish says, "and we want to make sure we have the inventory available when they're ready for it." The company is already in negotiations with clients for office and medical space at Metropolitan.

Parrish says their development of Regional Center Office Park, just east of Capital Circle NE on Welaunee Boulevard, should be completed in the next 18 months and the opportunities that Metropolitan Corporate Center offered was a natural next step.

"We've been going where the market is asking us to go – which is the northeast corridor," he says. "That's where we see our immediate future."

The average building in the new business park will be four stories and 57,000 sq. ft. Parrish says the buildings will be brick on the exterior and designed in the signature Parrish Group style.

Once the company closes on the remaining parcels and assumes sole ownership of the park, Parrish says he plans to add some amenities and may even consider a new name for it.

"We're in the business of helping local companies grow," Parrish says. "Our investment in Metropolitan will give us another opportunity to serve their needs."
